Lacey, Stephen

April 1975 - December 2020
Stephen Alexander Lacey [1975-2020] passed suddenly on December 4th, 2020. Words cannot express the shock and heartbreak. Survived by his wife and partner in crime, Jane Crawford. Pre-deceased by his father Joseph Lacey, survived by his mother Annette [Lacey] Mercer and his step-father Jerry Mercer. Lovingly remembered by his sister Barb [Remo] Belcastro and brother Bob Lacey, his son Mackenzie [Lacey] Crouch, niece Natasha Belcastro and nephews Michael Belcastro and Cody Lacey. As well as his Crawford family: parents [in-law] Gerry and Gail, [brother Andrew [Stephanie] and nephews Kieran and Rohan]. There is an army of extended family and friends across the country but especially here in southern Ontario and down east who were touched by Stephen. His sharp wit and humour, his big heart and generosity, his love for ALL animals [especially dogs] and his loyalty and charm was felt by all. There are no words to express the what a huge loss this is – but we can hold onto our memories of what a great guy and true friend Stephen was. Thanks to covid we cannot gather in his honour right now so we'll put this off for when we can and have a celebration. Raise a pint to a guy who wore his heart on his sleeve and would give the shirt of his back to a stranger. Jane will be in touch about these details closer to summer 2021. Stephen wanted to be cremated and spread over the Atlantic so we'll get him [home] hopefully this summer as well. If you wish to do something in his honour in the meantime – donate to Stephen's favourite charities - OSPCA and WWF [World Wildlife Fund]. Rest in peace my dear sweet "Gumm". The past 17 years have been the best in my life and I shall be with you forever. Love "Mooch"
