I have known the Branton Family my whole life having grown up in the same neighbourhood. I have so many memories of Gary at the old Whitby Arena, the Lacrosse Box at Peel Park or coming to the house looking for hockey sticks or candy. He even showed up at the old Station 3 Fire Station on Brock St. He was known by everyone. This is very sad news. I have so many fond memories of my years knowing Gary. Godspeed Gary home. My sincere condolences to the Branton Family. Be safe.

Someone already said it best that we will always remember Gary for his infectious smile! Gary was sure well know in Whitby, before it became the big city it is today. No matter where we took Gary, there was always someone who knew him, partly because of him hanging around the ball park a lot in his spare time! He would reach out to shake hands and say "Do you know me"? With those connections we were able to see the joy that Gary brought to other people! Thank you so much Annette and family for being there for him over all these years since the passing of his Mom and brothers! Hugs xoxo

I knew Gary in the 70’s. He loved to spend time on the swing-set in their backyard. The first thing he would ask me “want to swing?” So a couple times a week we would see who could go the highest. That smile was infectious.
