Bruce went to be with his Lord on August 22, 2023 at the age of 85 at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in Oakville, Ontario.
Born at the Mitchell homestead near Severn Bridge, he was the beloved son of Bernard Bruce Boynton and Florence (Bayley) Mitchell, stepson to Florence May (Riches) Mitchell, and little brother to Miriam (John) Baker.
He married his sweetheart, Janis Beryle Nixon in Gravenhurst, and they enjoyed 60 years together.
Proud father to Daniel (Yvonne), Laurence (Wendy) and Tara, and beloved Gramps to Jacob, Gregory, Brock, Peter, and Alyna, as well as Kyle, Karen, and Natasha.
Bruce is remembered for his unparalleled love for his family, his amazing wisdom, patience and gentleness, and his devotion to the Lord in all that he did. Raised in Severn Bridge, he helped his parents with the farm and later worked as an auto mechanic and tow truck driver.
It was there he met and married Janis and they settled down in the tranquil neighbourhood of Pickering Beach, on the shores of Lake Ontario. His married life was filled with raising his family, helping in the community and in his church family, and even travelling as far away as Bequia on mission trips. When not working at GM, he enjoyed watching sports - especially the Toronto Maple Leafs, cruising and vintage vehicles, and playing with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Accettone Funeral Home at 384 Finley Ave. in Ajax on Monday, August 28, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will be held at Rossland Ridge Bible Chapel, 1 Stevensgate Drive, Ajax at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 29th. For those who are unable to attend, the service will be available via Zoom.
A brief reception will follow the service.
Interment to be held Wednesday, August 30th at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Cemetery, 1350 Highway 11 North, Morrison Township (east side of Hwy 11 beside Muskoka Tourism, 3 km north of Severn
Bridge).
Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice or to Rossland Ridge Bible Chapel would be welcomed and much appreciated.

My love & prayers go out to you all. Janis & Bruce you were incredible examples of God's love to me as a teen, and even later in life. I will never forget you and your kindness. We will meet again, you can be sure of that; if not here then with our Lord Jesus in Heaven.
