On April 3, 2024, Isobel Rhind (Patterson) Piggott, loving wife, mother, aunt, great-aunt, granny, and great-granny, passed away peacefully at age 98 in Cobourg, Ontario.
Isobel was born in Shotts, North Lanarkshire, Scotland to David and Williamina Kay (Ellis) Patterson. She grew up in Port Glasgow, Scotland and was admitted to the Royal Infirmary to study nursing. Before she could take up her studies, she and her family moved to Canada in 1949 and settled in Toronto. There, at a dance at the Don Hall, she met her husband Donald Piggott. They were married in 1954 and had 66 years together. They moved to Ajax in 1957 where they brought up their 3 children David, Ronald, and Christine. She worked as a bookkeeper for Chrysler in Ajax and was passionate about her volunteer work for the Ajax Pickering Hospital Auxiliary. There she worked in the coffee and gift shop, and was
bookkeeper and general volunteer for over 40 years. In gratitude she was honored with an Ontario Service Award. She was an enthusiastic participant in many activities including bowling, jazzercise, and the Ajax Garden Club. After Don’s retirement she enjoyed golfing with him and they took up art. They were both devoted members of the Ajax Creative Arts club for which they were given life-long membership. She sold many paintings and many others are in private collections in the US and Canada.
She will be sadly missed by son David and Heather (Ferguson), grandson Ian and Alicia (Tarasick); son Ronald and Sandra (Miller), granddaughter Shannon and Colin Bourke and great grandkids Anderson, Grace and Nora, grandson Bryan and Kathleen (Lezon), grandson Steve and Naomi (Ross) and great grandkids Lexi, Lily and Ella; daughter Christine (Piggott) Rogers and Michael Muilenberg, granddaughter Cheryl Rogers and Kevin Jay, step-granddaughter Katie (Muilenberg) and Sammy Buckner, great granddaughter Olivia, and step-grandson Zack Muilenberg; nephew Ellis Dingwall, great-nephew Erik Dingwall and great-niece Jennifer Dingwall-Thorne; great-nephew Duncan Merritt, and great-niece Alexandra (Merritt) Pietraszko.
She is predeceased by her husband, parents, brother William Ellis Patterson and sister Jessie Fairley (Patterson) Dingwall (Sheena), and niece Sheena Kay (Dingwall) Merritt. She lived the longest of any member of her family.
We are comforted by the thought of her being reunited with all the animals she has loved over the years particularly Jet, Smokey, Bonnie, Tommy, and Charlie. Memorial service will be held on April 25 th, 2024 at 1pm at the Accettone Funeral Home in Ajax. Interment will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens, in Ajax. Messages of condolence can be shared on the Accettone Funeral Home website.

Chris, I always loved your stories of your dear Mom and her zest for life. I am donating to a wonderful dog and cat shelter in your Mother's name. They are near here and called Lake Haven. They have been around for 40 years and do a wonderful job of rehabilitating animals and finding the perfect family for them.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and Mike and your family. Sincerely, Sandy and Alena

I express my deepest sympathy in this time of great sorrow. In would like to share the comforting hope the Bible gives that your loved one will live again on a peaceful earth when there will be no more death in John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:4.
