Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Joyce decided to embark on a new journey and find her new home in London, England. Joyce then made her way to Canada where she retired as a Personal Support Worker helping many families in the Durham Region.
After a courageous 5 year battle with dementia, Joyce peacefully transitioned on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 leaving behind her son Raymond and daughter Andrea, and granddaughters Breanna, Maya, and Alicia.
Joyce will be remembered as a hardworking, devoted mother and grandmother. She was a fiercely independent woman who worked tirelessly to give her family a better life all on her own. She was steadfast in her faith, always reading the Bible and attending church up until her illness prevented it. Even in retirement, she spent her days making breakfast and driving her young grandchildren to school every morning. Her grandchildren have fond memories of coming home from school to watch daytime soaps with her.
Rest in Peaceful Bliss you will forever live in our hearts.
Visitation for family and friends will be at the Accettone Funeral Home 384 Finley Avenue, Ajax on Saturday, February 25th, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am immediately followed by the chapel service.
